March Madness

ReefHas spring finally arrived?  The days are getting longer, the birds are busy nest building and the divers are starting to come out of hibernation and dust off their kit.  Its also been nice to see some blue sky and the odd days sunshine.  Water temp is slowly rising, its currently around 7-8 degrees, viz is fantastic we had around 10 metres yesterday.

Just a reminder that the clocks spring forward on 27th March so make the most of the night diving over the next couple of weeks.  We are open for night dives every Wednesday until 9pm, please phone to book. We also have an extra late night on Thursday 17th March, again booking is essential.

We are all very busy working behind the scenes, you will see lots of changes over the next couple of months as we improve the facilities to make sure everyone has an enjoyable day when they visit.  We are not happy unless you are!

We have recently added a new dive attraction, a transit van with all the doors removed making it ideal as an easy wreck penetration. Several more attractions are being prepared as we speak… watch this space.

There is still time to book for the next open water course. Pool sessions are 2nd and 3rd April.
We are also taking bookings for the next Rescue course 14th and 15th May.

  1. I visited Nemes for the first time yesterday (Sat 05-05-13).
I headed for the office/shop to check in where I was given a warm welcome by Paula who gave me an overview of the site and facilities while I signed in. I was then introduced to Mark who gave a me a full briefing of the dive site. My buddy and I then kitted up and went for a swim.
The dive was as described in the brief, both shallow and deep water entries, a selection of training platforms and features including several boats, a transit van and some huge tyres most of which we were able to swim though which made the dive a little more fun. We were told there was a selection of fish in the lake and on this occasion we met a rather large pike lurking in the transit van (explains the expression pikies I guess!).
Shortly after our exit we were met by Mark who came to see how we got on and offered us a welcome cuppa.
All in all I had a very enjoyable days diving, the site is well organised, in a quiet peaceful location and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
If you haven’t already dived here add it to your list.
